Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Moaty Fayek: Retirement Announcement
Dear 神马福利我不卡 Community,
It is with a mix of gratitude and bittersweet sentiment that I share some news regarding our executive leadership. Dr. Moaty Fayek, our Vice President of Academic Affairs, has announced his plans to retire from 神马福利我不卡 toward the end of the Fall 2026 semester.
On a personal note, Moaty has been much more than a Vice President to me. He has been a trusted colleague and a dear friend. In the three years he has spent with our district, I have come to rely on his work ethic and wonderful sense of humor, which often provided much-needed perspective during our most complex challenges.
Moaty’s impact on our institution has been profound. While he oversaw critical areas such as academic programs, curriculum, and accreditation, his behind-the-scenes work truly transformed our operations. He spearheaded efforts to improve our data integrity, enabling us to make smarter, better-informed scheduling decisions. These improvements to our apportionment reports were instrumental in helping us reach our enrollment recovery targets and stabilizing our fiscal health.
Before his time at Gavilan, Moaty’s journey as a dean, department chair, faculty member, and entrepreneur shaped him into a leader who is both practical and visionary. Those of us who work closely with him know him as a creative force, someone never afraid to challenge the status quo if it means a better outcome for our students.
As Moaty prepares to spend more time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, he leaves behind a college that is stronger and more resilient because of his service.
We will have several opportunities to celebrate his dedication throughout the remainder of the year. For now, please join me in thanking him for his leadership, his commitment to student success, and the lasting mark he has left on 神马福利我不卡.
Kind Appreciation,
Dr. Pedro Avila
