Certified Nursing Assistant Admissions
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) students must complete all admission, orientation, and clinical clearance requirements before participating in clinical training. Review each step carefully and start early.
How to Get Started

- Sign up for the mandatory CNA orientation when it is posted.
- Attend the mandatory orientation.
- Complete and submit all required forms and clinical documents before the first day of class.
Schedule of Classes and Deadlines
Required Before Clinical Participation
All items below must be completed and submitted by the first day of class. Incomplete documentation may result in removal from the course.
- TB QuantiFERON Gold blood test completed no sooner than 90 days before the start of the course
- Negative TB result, or a clear chest X-ray report / physician verification if the result is positive
- Positive titers for rubella, mumps, measles, varicella, and hepatitis B
- Tdap within the last 10 years
- Flu vaccination for the current flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster
- Ten-panel drug and alcohol screening through CastleBranch
- All 3 required Live Scan forms and fingerprinting documentation
- Health clearance form and required clinical paperwork
- Current American Heart Association BLS Provider course
Uniform and Equipment
- Uniform attire is required by the first day of clinical
- Scrub top, pant, and jacket must all be Cherokee brand, Ciel Blue, and matching in style
- Watch with a second hand
- Black or royal blue stethoscope
- Required textbooks brought on the first day of class
Professional Appearance
- Hair pulled back and secured
- Uniform clean and wrinkle-free
- No acrylic, gel, dip, or polished nails
- No fake eyelashes
- Tattoos covered
- Piercings removed or appropriately covered
Attendance and Course Expectations
No absences or tardiness are allowed. State certification requires 100% attendance. Students must progress with the class, complete all required coursework, and meet both theory and clinical expectations.
Clinical placements are assigned at approved facilities. Students are responsible for their own transportation and childcare arrangements.
Budget Planning
Students should budget for tuition and college fees, books and workbook materials, health clearance and immunizations, uniform and accessories, certification examination costs, drug screening and compliance costs, and Live Scan.
